From our beautiful the Pearl Cottage on the charming island Resarö, you are close to them all. By using this website, you'll get inspired and can make plans for your days here. Stockholm
Stockholm is magnificent! It was founded in the mid-13th century, but it took around 400 years for it to play an important role as the capital of Sweden. Today, its the biggest city in Scandinavia. Almost everyone speek English.
The city is built upon 14 islands where the Lake Mälaren meets the Baltic Sea. These are linked together with over 50 bridges. No wonder that its nickname is "the Venice of the North".
You'll find a rich history, different cultural expressions, architecture from the 15th century until today, and the dynamic attitudes of a vivid metropolis. To get a feeling of the city, do spend at least two days here.​
Vaxholm
The town Vaxholm's nickname is "the capital of the archipelago". This may be because of its history and the fact that the harbour has a vibrant maritime feeling from spring to the autumn. You'll find genuine restaurants and picturesque shops, framed by the grand natural surroundings of the islands. All year round, do to spend one or two days in the area. Off season, you experience the calmness of the
town.

The Archipelago
The Stockholm archipelago is magic! It consists of 25–30.000 islands, islets, and skerries. There's an inner, a middle and an outer part without any sharp boundaries. When you stay in the Pearl Cottage, you're already in the inner part. By boat from Vaxholm, you'll reach the middle and the outer part. No matter where you are here, you'll have a magnificent experience. We recommend at least one visit on an island.

About Us
In 2005, – the Metz family – bought a plot with a small, ugly summer cottage on it. We gradually transformed it to what you see today. We realised that other people than our family and friends should have the opportunity to relax here and experience the areas we love so much: Resarö, Vaxholm, Stockholm, and the archipelago.

To help your planning, we made this homepage about our recommendations to visit and "to do". During your stay, we’re available for other suggestions depending on your interests and the weather forecast. Of course, you can always experience the calmness by yourself in the cottage and on the plot without disturbance. Here, the silence is refreshing for your soul.
